Why are people all bawling over the end of Harry Potter?

Hasn't the series ended years ago?

Or is it just prove of what I fear most? That everyone takes the movies more serious than I do?
Sure, they are nice, but in the end they are just secondary material. And the actors were never close enough to the characters for me.

Also, when Rowling says that she has tons of new material for her new website, I get very weary...
I just can't let go of the feeling that she has given up on the Potterverse by the time she got married again and had her second child, and didn't need to escape in her fantasie world anymore to expiriance happines.

So while others shed tears I might throw a party that after next week I never have to see Emma Watson, Daniel Radcliff, Tom Felton, David Thewlis and co. impersonate those characters, as well as bad as well as bad directors and script writers distort the story again.

it could be because it's the end of an era. also it was about 10 years ago when the movies started & many people grew up with them. other than that, i don't get it either.
