Ah, I see. That's... not good. And not encouraging, considering some of the proposals floating around here in the US. Of course, my current insurance is over $1k/month, and I'm lucky to have that (and to live in a state with some of the tightest restrictions on insurance companies in the country). I don't know. There's got to be a better way, somehow. Something that's affordable, but still gives fair pay to the doctors and researchers and all...

That's... exactly the opposite of what happens here. Hospitals are overcrowded, and private insurance reimbursements are too small. So the hospitals try to kick you out as soon as it's even remotely safe.

Was, rund $700 im Monat?! Was zum Geier ist denn das für eine Krankenkasse - bzw. da muss aber sicher noch mehr dabei sein als nur die Grundversicherung, oder? Sonst wäre das ja wirklich glatter Raub! Und wäre dann nicht wenigstens sowas wie Prämienverbilligung möglich?
