To the Americans reading this:

Do you guys have easy ways to get candy from
- Haribo
- Halter
- Ricola
???

I'm taking part in the Yultide Candy exchange, and standing in the store today I just noticed that we are really a country of chocolate and baked stuff, but candy.. not so much!

We've got lots of candy here, but I've never heard of Haribo or Halter. And the Ricola I know is a brand of cough drops.

Let's see. According to Wiki, Haribo does exist in the US, but mostly in German specialty stores, sold at "gourmet prices." However, as with most things, it can be purchased online. Actually, when I went to their official site to look into that, the link took me to Amazon.com's Haribo selection.

A quick web search for "Halter candy" also turns up Amazon as one of the top links.

So... yes. If we really want those brands, we can get them without too much difficulty. But they're not exactly likely to show up at the local convenience store.

Should mention, though, that other brands of gummy bears, gummy worms, gummy sour candy (Sour Patch Kids), and such are fairly common.

What does jump out at me (so to speak) is the mini frogs. Happy Cola doesn't have a common analog that I can think of, either. And I'm not sure what Pico-Balla is. The mice are entirely new to me. And "primavera" strawberries just seem kinda funny.

I have encountered the gummy raspberry/blackberry mix. But, like wiki said, only rarely and at "gourmet" prices. Mom considers them a treat.

The Halter selection on Amazon seems to mostly be sugar free hard candies, which are easy enough to find in other brands.

Ricola on Amazon turns up only a variety of cough drops. And some kind of herbal tea.
