We planned not to plan things!
We move the world our infrastructure.
Move started 11pm on friday on the old place and everything has to work monday at 6am
Le't just say that when I left Sunday at 5 pm less then half of the 100m conveyor belt was not in place, no computers were connected, showers and restrooms are missing simple things like water or doors/locks and the space were shipments get loaded/unloaded to the vehicles is clogged up with the 60% of the conveyor belt parts that are not yet in place
And no, it does not help that the boss told us that one of our competitioners needed 3 years to get everything rolling smoothly after they had a similar big move.
We also found a shipment that had a bad adress and the note that the shipper would contact us again when he found out the new adress of the receiver - basicly something that happens a few times a day - just that this shipment is on hold since 7 years So much for the "express" part in our line of work.
Highlighs of the day:
- Discovering that it's blue vs red rather then black vs black after cleaning up the table-soccer-table
- The boss explaining that this the new hall is a non-smoking area, expect this place, and that place and the other place as well as in 5 out of 6 offices - therefore smoking is allowed on about 70% of the non-smoking premises
