Here the idea must have been that it would be cool to have a epic battle of mytical creatures and gods in New York City
Too bad you have to somehow deal with the Muggles humans, so let them just fall asleep
To bad the hero also falls asleep all the time, so he can have dreams and visions about what goes on in the battle in places he is currently not at
So it just gets more silly the further the story moves on

on the plus side, I wrote a lot more stuff myself
