Today's the first semi final of the Eurovision Song Contest.

In the past years I used this spot to tell you why you should vote for the Swiss Song.
This year I will only give you one reason why you should not vote for Switzerland.

If you vote for the Swiss Entry to this years ESC you will be supporting

The Salvation Army

The six musicans are all members of the SA. They won the Swiss selection under the name of "Heilsarmee Band" (Salvation Army Band) wearing their typical uniforms.

Afterwards there was a shitstorm when the EBU told them that they could not perform at the ESC representing their sect because the rules don't allow any commercial, political and/or religious motives.
(One of the stupidest arguments presented over and over why there should be an exception of this rule for the SA was that Lordi where allowed to perform in their satanical costumes after all)

Now they are called Takasa. Officially this means "cleansing", but - Honi soit qui mal y pense - it can also be seen as an acronym for "The Artists known as Salvation Army"

So, however catchy the song "You and Me" may be, please don't vote for a homophobic, religious cult/sect

Feel free to link to this entry to spread the word.

This year isn't a very good year, IMO.
It's so bad actually, that i'm rooting for Jedward, because theirs is the only song I wanted to listen to more than once.

I think I never before heard a audience boo that loud at the political voting

In that matter 4out of 4 neighbors have not given Switzerland any points

let's keep that in mind for the future (ESC voting as well as for the next time Schengen comes up in a national vote).

Whoever decided that Jan Delay deserves to be featured as break artist in an Eurovision finale needs to be shot

even the Swiss Station who normaly never goes into commercials during Eurovision decided that it can't hurt to do it during this display of bad taste

Had a really bad day
But fighting my way out of bed for the Eurovision finale
My favorited in no particular order:

Finland
Aserbaidschan
Denmark

Crack-Vote: Ireland

Switzerland's in the final, that's more than expected, so, no clue where that will go.
I don't believe it has the potential to win

OMG!

I think it is safe to say that Switzerland will not advance, as we are one of the pathetic countries that send a Lena-clone
Plus - again - all countries that we could shove a point or two in out direction out of sympathy vote in the second semi final.

Surfing some Eurovision related sites today i found this interesting polls

- 46% of the Germans believe that Lena will win again
- 42% of the Swiss don't believe that Anna will even make it to the final

I think that shows perfectly why the mentality often clashes in everyday life, with Germans now making up the biggest group of immigrants in Switzerland

- So Azerbaijan the big favorite is going first?
Usually not the best spot, but then this year you can vote from the beginning of the show, not just at the end. So it could work the other way around
Still don't like the song

- Cyprus - Still a favourite of mine

- Belgium stood out in the first semi, but pales to cyprus

- Serbia will get lots of points for being a lovesong about the balkan in general
